Numbers Matter – Host Numerical Reasoning Workshops

“I find that MEC approaches support students as they find several ways to solve problems and share with classmates. They are learning from each other. Not only are the lower students learning from the higher, but high students are also learning from students previously less successful with math.”  - 5th Grade Teacher

“Learning 21st Century mathematics in a MEC classroom setting has inspired me to recognized and appreciate mathematics relationships in the real world, ask “why” and “how” questions and have confidence in my own ability to solve problems. I have greater appreciation for the power and beauty of mathematics.”  - Elementary Teacher

“MEC courses have made me excited about mathematics and sharing strategies and methods with my students. Students’ understanding of the fifth grade curriculum is rapidly increasing!”  - 5th Grade Teacher

Administrator Mathematics Leadership

MEC Administrator Mathematics Leadership development is for school and district administrators.8 This carefully designed quarterly half-day workshop sequence is focused on mathematical understandings, classroom observations and assessment practices. The workshops help administrators support teacher and student learning. Administrators develop their ability to recognize characteristics of quality mathematics programs and instruction, communicate effectively with parents and the public, and provide instructional leadership in mathematics. Knowledgeable administrators gain support as they work and communicate with teachers, parents and the public.
