Excerpts from reflections written at the end of the Vancouver Leadership Week

Summer 2015

These reflections were written by a diverse group of participants in the MEC MSP project’s leadership week on Expressions and Equations, the final leadership event of this 2-1/2 year project to develop a next generation of mathematics teacher leaders for Washington State.

These reflections offer important insights into how the MEC-developed series of mathematics content workshops, and the MEC MSP’s Delayed Leadership Model are changing mathematics teaching and learning in Washington State across the K-20 continuum. Participants also share their thoughts on why this work must continue. Participants represent multiple roles within the MEC MSP project and within the educational system at-large and, as such, they offer important insights and views from multiple perspectives.
