Number Talks Leadership Academy project
in Washington State!
If you have submitted a letter of commitment or have made other arrangements with MEC, WELCOME TO OUR OFFICIAL REGISTRATION PROCESS! We are very excited to collaborate with your team over the next three years!
Each member of your team will be considered a Number Talk Support Team leader (NTST) and it is most desirable that each NTST has one or two teachers to collaborate with over the course of the project. This collaboration will be important from the very beginning of the project as they all work to transform their own classroom practice. Instructional coaches and other NTSTs who don’t have their own classrooms will need to have a classroom where they work on a regular basis to enact Number Talks.
An important element of this design is the intent that these collaborating teachers attend the 2-day Number Talk Institute portion of the academy during the summer alongside the NTSTs. Each year of the project, this collaboration will deepen and grow. (Eventually, no sooner than Year Two of the project, NTSTs will be ready to provide PD to support these and other classroom teachers and administrators.)
For this reason, along with some basic information for each NTST, you will be asked to identify how many collaborating teachers you anticipate will be attending the Number Talk Institute portion of the academy along with each NTST. There will be a separate registration process for these non-NTST teachers.
If you have any questions regarding the project design or the information requested, please contact MEC.
Thank You!
Please read the following carefully
This registration process will begin with forms to register each team’s Main Contact and each NTST who will participate in the 3-year project. We are asking that the Main Contact register all team members rather than having each team member register separately.
Please complete the following form ONLY if you are the Main Contact for your team and if you are able to electronically sign a financial commitment statement at the end of the process.
