Biannual Studio Days were attended by all Regional Math Support Teachers, Regional Math Coordinators, a cohort of teachers from the school and/or region, principals, district administrators and math coaches.
Participants followed a lesson observation protocol, observed classroom teaching, and used the observation to learn how to ensure high cognitive demand in mathematics lessons and teaching pedagogies. These Studio Days were generative in that teacher leaders were learning to facilitate Studio Days in their schools. The Regional Math Coordinators helped facilitate Studio Days in teacher leaders’ schools.
